photo attempt.

i'm trying out the method for posting photos.
here i am smiling at 37wks.
in two days from now i will be 40wks.
hope i will be still smiling.

snow globe.

true, the last post was also about snow.  i suppose it is going to seem new & shiny for quite awhile this first winter we are in minnesota.  the wind is whirling about today, and the snow is coming softly -- a beautiful combination that makes it seem like i'm living in a snow globe.  good thing that i live in a warm house in a snow globe.  it is now 6.6deg at 12noon.  i was also surprised to see the largest snow plow i've ever seen in my life this morning.  it was a construction vehicle, yellow & all, with humongous tires & two plow blades working simultaneously.  it didn't appear to make a huge difference in clearing the street, but i saw that it did its duty, and nate didn't fall down the hill when he left for work in our tiny saturn (newly outfitted with snow tires!).  so now we have our snow & our chilly temps.  all we need is a Baby J face to complete our winter wonderland. ;)

dusted.

we woke up to our first real snow dusting this morning.  i say 'real', because i would also like to claim a snow dusting during the first week of october 1st, which lasted on the ground & trees for all of about 6hrs until it was pushed away by the warm fall temps.  this time around, with temps steady in the teens, i'm fairly confident that this snow will grace us for awhile longer.  the flurries flew all day yesterday and are still whirling around today, but ever so gently.  it's quite beautiful.

humorous side note: yesterday, texas claimed its first snowfall of the year -- how the heck did it beat out duluth?  do i feel like a lucky girl or what?  duluth has been kind to me this first fall/winter o' mine!
