giggles.

seized the moment to capture the beautiful blues of my little girl... and unpredictably, it ended in both of us in uncontrollable giggles! one of those times that, as a mom, i maybe should have maintained my composure in order to take advantage of a 'teachable moment' (to extract her finger from her nose), but instead the giggles just bubbled over. as you can see, it became contagious. and i don't regret it for a second! giggle sessions with my little girl are always welcome. =D

hoops.

this 11mo sure loves him some hoops! lj has impressed us with his focus at times. for example, he can shoot baskets for fifteen minutes straight! dunk it, find the ball, get the ball, dunk it, repeat ad infinitum... good timing, i guess, with march madness not far off now!

stripes.

we had a friend come over to play tonight. aa & lj matched with their stripey pj's!

married.

kj and i got married today. we got dressed up, danced and took a photo. then we were married. who knew it could be that simple! it was a happy day.

quesadillas.

sometimes we have a little fun with what is a very common lunch for us - quesadillas and fruit. and lj has gotten quite good at asking/signing for 'more' of his favorite foods, quesadillas included!

 

master.

our refinishing project in our master bathroom is nearly done! goodbye pink & teal (before), hello gray & salmon. goodbye dark wood trim, hello refreshing white trim & cabinets. goodbye mauve phone hanging on the wall next to the toilet, and hello unexpected replacement toilet! still to come: decorating to taste, and maybe built-in shelves to surround the vanity mirror? ;)

reading.

reading is one of our favorite pasttimes around here. it's not uncommon for lj to spend 15-20min reading by himself next to this bookshelf. or for both kids to crawl in my lap for a little storytime when i should be cooking dinner. this morning, kj was reading a story to lj... she has a lot of those books memorized! made my heart happy.

name.

kj wrote her name for the first time this evening! go, kj! and happy birthday to me. ;)

a big job for such a little girl! but she is a pro by now at making mommy's favorite breakfast treat... thanks to a very able nanna-teacher!

aaaaaand, he claps! hurray! i've been waiting for this for awhile, remembering how very fun it was to have a cheering section in the house when kj started clapping. "mom gave me another cracker, hurray! i put the ball in the box, hurray! i pulled all the silverware out of the dishwasher, hurray!" so much clapping, so much fun. it just brightens up our days. clap clap clap away, lj!
