innings.

we nearly made it to the 7th inning stretch before we had to call it a game at target field this year! always fun to see the twins play at home, but a two-month old and a two-year old bearing with the wind and rain for more than two hours was a bit more than these two old parents bargained for. so, we headed to a friend's house to play, eat, sleep, and play some more. thanks for having us, tabaka family!

safety.

safety first! and so began the notion of claiming free life jackets for the kiddos as summer quickly approaches. and everyone knows that summer in minnesota means laketime - yeah! little did we know that we'd be swimming through the kohl's parking lot for hours in order to wear these proudly. one hour of traffic in torrential downpour, then a two-hour wait with umbrellas, circumventing the parking lot before snaking through disney-like lines. lots of families, lots of kids, lots of ponchos. all for the sake of safety! and we are so thankful to both kohl's & essentia health for providing free life jackets to kids in duluth this summer. especially our kids. we just didn't know what a WET adventure we had signed up for this evening... here's to getting wet (safely) during the upcoming hot days of summer!

gardenette.

kj has her own little garden to plant, care for & harvest this year. perhaps we should call it a gardenette, though, since it only involves two little tomato plants. on the deck, where it's easy to water using leftovers from the kiddie pool & where it's easy to snatch its golden cherry tomatoes when they come ripe. gardenette is planted, now here comes the hard part: waiting waiting waiting...

transportation.

transportation night with ecfe was a hit! what a fun family event, complete with perfect weather, a school bus, a bunch of little friends, and a heavy duty tow truck with moving parts...

cones.

first ice cream cone! shared with sweet friend slm... "oh! that's pretty good!" happy summer, everyone!
