grand.

nearly a week up in grand marais, with nanna & poppa, in their camper! it was very close to paradise for us. ;) 75deg, sunny, breezy every day. woke up, rolled out of bed, threw rocks in lake superior. kids took a nap, we read a book. nj & his dad went fishing in kayaks whenever they wanted. donuts for breakfast every morning. games of pinnochle. poppa washed nearly every dish we dirtied. other folks to help take turns putting luke to sleep (he likes being bounced to sleep these days, and i'm not always perfectly patient in these moments ;)). showers were optional. indoor swimming pool for the couple of afternoons that it rained. frozen custard for a treat. searching for agates on the stone beaches. a 4th of july parade with duluth friends, culminating in an impromptu playdate in the pouring rain. didn't drive for a week, just walked everywhere in town! even some shopping for gifts (which i love to do). it was a great vacation!! thanks a million, nanna & poppa!
